Hello and welcome to my website!
My name is Amanda and I am a 23 year old graduate from The Ohio State University. I majored Human Nutrition - Dietetics and couldn't be more proud of my school and the various opportunities it has granted me. The original intent of this site was to create a way for friends and family to keep up with me while I was in Tanzania, Africa this past summer. I was abroad for 5 weeks volunteering with an organization called GIVE, which stands for Growth International Volunteer Excursions.
While my time abroad drastically changed my outlook on life, I am slowly learning that injustice, whether social or educational or political, doesn't stop in first world countries. As I continue to learn more about the "dark side" of my profession in health I feel compelled to share this information with anyone willing to listen. I just ask that you have an open mind and remember that I am a person too, so expect mistakes here and there.
With the countless number of "to-dos" the average American has, I have found nothing more refreshing and pleasing than to offer my time and service to those who have little to no material items. With that being said, expect to read many rants about how unfair life is to those in need and how frustrated I am with how we, as people, are treating one another.
Feel free to leave me questions or comments!
